Adding meters to EKM Dash is pretty straight forward if you know what to do. Here are the step to take:


If you're reading your meter with an EKM Push gateway:

  1. Find the email that was sent to you when you purchased the EKM Push gateway. In that email will be your EKM Push Key, among other things. Copy the Push Key.
  2. From the main Dash window, click the "Meters" icon in the upper left corner.
  3. Click "Add meter..."
  4. At the top of the new window are three tabs for USB, iSerial, and Push. Click "Push".
  5. A text box will appear that prompts you to enter you User Key. Since you have already copied it, paste it in here.
  6. If you have multiple meters associate to your Push account, and you would like to add them all at once, click the "Add All" button. This will give you a list of all the meters associated with the Push User Key (if some of the meters are already entered into Dash they will not be listed. Keep the checkboxes checked next to the meters you want to add and click OK.
  7. Alternatively, you can enter one meter at a time by entering the meter number in the text box provided. Meter numbers are printed under the meter's LCD display. They are also included in the email that was sent to you regarding you EKM Push account. 
  8. Select the Meter Model from the drop-down list.
  9. Entering one meter at a time also allows you to edit other settings such as Meter Name, Read Interval, and Time Zone.
  10. When you are ready click OK.

If you're reading your meter with a USB Converter (EKM Blink):

  1. From the main Dash window, click the "Meters" icon in the upper left corner.
  2. Click "Add meter..."
  3. At the top of the new window are three tabs for USB, iSerial, and Push. Click "USB".
  4. A drop-down list will appear that will prompt you to select the serial port that the USB Converter is connected to. On a Windows computer this will look like "Com4" or "Com3", etc. On a Mac it will look like "usbserial-AH02A1TG."
  5. Enter the meter number in the text box provided. Meter numbers are printed under the meter's LCD display.
  6. Select the Meter Model from the drop-down list.
  7. You can also edit other settings such as Meter Name, Read Interval, and Time Zone.
  8. When you are ready click OK.




If you're reading your meter with an iSerial (discontinued:

  1. From the main Dash window, click the "Meters" icon in the upper left corner.
  2. Click "Add meter..."
  3. At the top of the new window are three tabs for USB, iSerial, and Push. Click "iSerial".
  4. Two text boxes will appear that will prompt you to enter your iSerial Address and iSerial Port. Provided that you have already set up the iSerial on you network, you should be able to enter both into the appropriate boxes.
  5. Enter the meter number in the text box provided. Meter numbers are printed under the meter's LCD display.
  6. Select the Meter Model from the drop-down list.
  7. You can also edit other settings such as Meter Name, Read Interval, and Time Zone.
  8. When you are ready click OK.
