Here is a video diagram showing how a series of meters can be daisy chained together via RS485 communications:



All of the Omnimeters have an RS485 (A) and an RS485 (B). You can just connect all of the RS485 As together and all of the RS485 Bs together. A to A to A and B to B to B in series.  Then connect the A wire to A on the EKM Push and the B wire to the B on the Push. It is really very simple and can be expanded in the future. You can connect up to 50 electric Omnimeters on over 4000 feet of wire to a single EKM Push gateway.

Connecting to a USB Converter is done the same way; you connect all of the As together and all of the Bs together. Then connect the A line to A on the USB Converter and the B line to the B on the USB Converter. You can connect up to 256 electric meters on over 4000 feet of wire to a single USB Converter.


We use shielded CAT5 cable for the RS-485 data wire.  Inside of CAT5 there are 4 twisted pairs of wire, you will only need to use one of these twisted pairs for all meters connected to your communication device.  If there is a situation where it is un-economical to run CAT5 wire, you can make this data connection wireless using an EKM 485Bee.


Connecting to a iSerial is done the same way; you connect all of the As together and all of the Bs together. Then connect the A line to A on the iSerial and the B line to the B on the iSerial. It is really very simple and can be expanded in the future. You can connect up to 256 electric meters on over 4000 feet of wire to a single iSerial.
