Which accessories you need/want will depend entirely on your particular situation. Each case is different so it is best if you familiarize yourself with the options and then see which accessories are suitable for your project.


Basic Electric Meters:

  • 25XDSE: Pretty much the only accessory that may be needed for this meter is an Enclosure. Any of the enclosure options that we offer will work well for these meters.
  • 15E: Likewise, the only accessory consideration for this meter is an enclosure.  Because the cover plates of the Indoor Enclosure were designed for larger meters, they aren't a great option for the 15E. Either of the watertight enclosures we offer are great options however, and will fit multiple 15E meters in each.

Omnimeters:
  • Current Transformers: If you intend to meter electricity then you will need one or more of these. The quantity, size, and amperage rating depend on the type of electrical system being metered.
  • Enclosures: Our electric meters are DIN rail mounting, so it's possible to mount a piece of DIN Rail in an existing enclosure or electrical panel. If you don't have another electrical box to install the meter in, then it's recommended that you get an enclosure for your meter. Each enclosure comes with DIN rail.
  • Fuse Holders: We recommend these as an extra level of protection for the voltage reference wires in your system. It is a good idea to put one on each hot line of your metering system at the source (either from a breaker, piercing connector, main lugs, etc.).
  • Piercing Connectors: These provide one way of getting voltage and neutral references for the Omnimeter. However, you can also run wires directly from the main lugs, breakers, or bus bar, in order to provide the same references, if you don't want to tap into the middle of your wires. So depending on you situation and/or preference, you may or may not need these.
  • Sticker Label Sheet: This simply provide a way to label the components and wires of your system. It is completely optional but may help avoid confusion once everything is installed.
  • EKM Blink USB Converter: If you want to read the meter directly with a computer you will need one of these.
  • EKM Push3 Gateway: If you would like to be able to read your Omnimeter remotely then this is the best option that we have. This gateway will allow you to connect your meter(s) to an internet source so that you can send your data to the cloud.
  • EKM Dash Software: If you want to read your meters with a computer then this option provides a good way to do that. Free download.
  • CAT5 Cable: The twisted pair wires in this cable provides a great way to connect the the 2-wire RS-485 communications between the meter and whichever communication device you're using. The twisted pairs also provide a great way to connect the 2-wire pulse output from our Water Meters and Gas Meters, the the pulse input of the Omnimeter Pulse v.4 or 8 Digit Pulse Counter. If you're doing any of these things then you may want to consider getting some CAT5 cable. This can also be sources locally from an electronics store.
  • Ethernet Cable: If you're using an EKM Push gateway then you will need to connect it to your internet router somehow. This is most commonly done with an ethernet cable. These can also be easily sourced locally from an electronics store.

Water and Gas Meters:
For the most basic installations these meters need no additional accessories. They simply plumb inline with your water or gas lines and don't need anything additional to be able to be read locally on the meter dials. However, if you want to be able to read these meters remotely then you will need some additional products.
  • Omnimeter Pulse v.4: This is an electric meter that can also count pulses from to three pulse output water and/or gas meters. If you want to be able to read your water and/or gas meter on a computer, then you will need one of these. If you don't want one of these then the rest of the options in this list do not relate to your needs. If you do want to read your water and/or gas with a computer, then read on.
  • EKM Push Gateway: If you would like to be able to read your Omnimeter (and connected water and/or gas meters) remotely then this is the best option that we have. This gateway will allow you to connect your meter(s) to an internet source so that you can send your data to the cloud.
