Once you have created your account and are logged in, you will see all of the meters associated with the Push key that you entered, in the column on the left. If your account was created after October 7th, 2016 (the date that Encompass 2.0 was released) then you will not see any groups in this column. If you account was created before this date then you will already have one or more groups.

If you have multiple meters, groups allow you to organize you meters in a way that makes the most sense for your particular needs. If you have a large number of meters this can be particularly helpful. Grouped meters also lets you view meter data in aggregate, so you can view the sum of Watts or kWh of all meters in a given group, for example.

To Create a new group of meters:

  1. Click the "+ New group" button, which is at the top of the column of meters on the left.
  2. This opens the new group modal.

  3. Name the group.

  4. Check the boxes next to the meters that you would like included in the group.

  5. Click "Save" when you are ready.

  6. You will now see the group that you created at the top of the column on the left. Click on the group.

  7. You will now see the group dashboard.

  8. In this example, the group has electric, water, and gas meters is it, so the default dashboard has one Info Widget for each meter type. More widgets can be added for each meter and/or meter type by using the optional available above the default widget(s).

You also add nested groups within groups. This can be helpful if you have a large number of meters and you need a way to organize them. The levels of groups can be as high as five or more, in case you have the need for many levels of organization, e.g. Country > State > City > Address > Apartment Number. This allows you to set up your account so you can quickly and easily drill down to specific groups or individual meters, without searching through a long list of meters.

To create a nested group:
  1. Click on the group that you would like to put a new group in.
  2. Click the "+ New group" button, which is at the top of the column of meters on the left.
  3. Follow the steps outlined above for creating groups.
  4. Once the group is created you will find it inside of the group that you first clicked in step 1.
