Each EKM Push account has multiple keys that offer different levels of data access and permissions. Depending on the level of access you want to give 3rd parties, these key can be shared with them to allow them to access data for your meters and Push gateways. Below are descriptions for the different types of keys.

Master Account Key
The master account key provides access to all meters and Push gateways in your account. It also provides administrative privileges, so anyone with this key can request that changes be made to your account. Changes can include meter and/or Push gateway addition requests, meter/Push assignment changes, and even account ownership transfer requests. The master account key is also the only key that allows users to make settings changes in the meters, like CT ratio changes, TOU settings changes, etc. We recommend being very selective regarding who you share this key with.

In the email that we send to first time purchasers of and EKM Push, the master account key is right at the top of the email:

The key is also visible when looking at your main Account Portal page, including in the URL:

Meter Key

These keys keys only provide data for a single Omnimeter. In the case of v.4 or v.5 Omnimeters, the key also proved pulse data for any water or gas meters that are connected to them. Meter keys are read-only, meaning they only allow users to view data and will not all users to make Push account changes or meter settings changes.

Sub-Account (Meter Group) Key

These keys provide data access to a subset of meter within your Push account. Sub-account keys are read-only, meaning they only allow users to view data and will not all users to make Push account changes or meter settings changes. Sub-account key can be created by EKM upon request. We need to know which meters to put in the group, and a name to apply to the sub-account key.
