  2. How many hot wires in your system: 1, 2 or 3?
  3. Does the system include a neutral as well?
  4. What is your voltage?
  5. What is the amperage of your system? 
  6. What is the diameter/size of your wire?
  7. Do you want a basic read-on-the-face meter or would you like a remote readable smart meter to read with your computer or over the internet?
  8. If you are using an EKM Omnimeter, do you want to use Solid Core or Split Core CTs?

If you're interested in finding a water meter you should try to answer the following questions before you start looking at specific meters:

  1. What is the diameter of the pipe you want to plumb the meter into?
  2. What is the maximum flow rate of the water?
  3. What is the minimum flow rate of the water?
  4. What is the maximum pressure?
  5. What is the temperature of the water?

If you're interested in finding a gas meter you should try to answer the following questions before you start looking at specific meters:

  1. What is the diameter of the pipe you want to plum the meter into?
  2. What is the maximum flow rate of the gas?
  3. What is the minimum flow rate of the gas?
  4. What is the maximum pressure?
